BCH Technical Services, LLC - Interactive/Shell Access Information

There are two basic steps to gaining interactive or 'shell' access:

1. Consider special notes that may apply to you:
   • Your type of account may not permit interactive access. Contact support to find out for sure.
   • Only SSH2, not SSH1, is supported.
   • TELNET, RLOGIN and RSH are not permitted.
2. Get and configure a SSH2 protocol capable client:
   • MS Windows: Putty (free) from Simon Tatham
   • MS Windows: SSH Secure Shell (retail) from SSH Communications Security
   • MS Windows: F-Secure SSH Client (retail) from F-Secure
   • MS Windows: SecureCRT (retail w/ free trial) from Van Dyke Software
   • Macintosh OS X (10.X and up): Fugu (free) from Research Systems UNIX Group
   • Macintosh OS (up to 9.X): NiftyTelnet (free) from Jonas Wallden
   • UNIX: OpenSSH ssh client (free) from OpenSSH
